In line with his pledge to provide good governance to the people of Kano state, the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje launched the Agric Business, Small & Medium Entreprise Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS), yesterday. (Video)

The scheme targeted over 5000 petty traders across the 44 local government areas in collaboration with the National Directorate for Employment. The governor said thousands of youths had undergone training and retraining in various trades with a view to making them self-reliant and employers of labour, adding that more youths were currently receiving training on various crafts across the state. Mr Ali Jubrin, a beneficiary, who was trained on sewing, thanked the state government for the opportunity to be able to produce clothes that can make life better for people. It’s is reported that generating sets, computer systems, industrial sewing machines, solar panels, carpentry tools were among tools distributed to the beneficiaries.
