A 45-year-old suspected vandal identified as Musa Oladipupo, was, on Sunday, 11th November, 2018, found dead inside an NNPC’s Petroleum Motor Spirit, PMS, pipeline at Ghana Axis, Ogijo, Ogun State. BREAKING: EFCC set to Probe Oshiomhole (REASONS)
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is set to reportedly probe the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole over allegations of financial impropriety leveled against him and his Chief of Staff, Abbas Braimoh.
A member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the anti-graft agency will invite Oshiomhole for interrogation over the allegations as they constitute financial crime.
He revealed that there were series of petitions forwarded to the anti-graft agency by some aggrieved stakeholders of the party over the primaries. He said;
“From available information, I believe the EFCC is looking into the matter and the national chairman and his Chief of Staff may be invited this week. Aside the DSS, some aggrieved members also petitioned the EFCC, alleging that the recently concluded primaries were marred by bribery allegations.
“While many of the aspirants didn’t come out in the open, we have seen people like Osita Okechukwu, the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), who pointedly accused Oshiomhole of corruptly enriching himself through the primaries. He also urged the DSS and EFCC to immediately probe the call logs of Oshiomhole.
“So, I believe the EFCC will begin its probe this week. Those who wrote the petition will be made to present their facts while the national chairman will defend himself”, he said.
"What happens, thereafter, will determine the fate of the national chairman”, he noted.
On whether President Muhammadu Buhari will not intervene just as he was reported to have done when Oshiomhole was grilled by the DSS, another source in the presidency said while he was not aware of the EFCC case, the president will not intervene if indeed Oshiomhole is found guilty.
“I don’t think the president will shield him or prevent EFCC from doing its job. If you know, the president has always given the EFCC a free hand to investigate anyone no matter how highly placed. The president will not stop EFCC from doing its job.
“Remember, the general election is just few weeks away and one of the campaign promises is the fight against corruption. So, how can it be said that he is shielding the national chairman of his party from being investigated? If he does that, the opposition will latch on to that and it will not do his image or the party a lot of good.

Coach Ventura Resigns As Chievo Coach After Four Winless Games.
Former Italy manager Gian Piero Ventura, resigned as coach of Serie A strugglers Chievo after just four games following Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Bologna.
It was the first point for Ventura after three defeats as the side from Verona broke out of negative territory to sit on zero points after 12 games, having being deducted three points for false accounting. Ventura — who replaced Lorenzo D’Anna a month ago — informed the players of his decision after the match, saying he did not believe he could save them from relegation.
“It was a bolt from the blue,” Chievo director of sport Giancarlo Romarione told Sky Sport Italia, “but I can say that the resignation is not official.”
“We have to wait for Ventura and the president to talk.
“We now have to take a little time and wait for cool heads to analyse the situation along with those thoughts that came out in the heat of the moment.
“We have not changed our minds on Ventura, we still feel the same as a month ago when we hired him.” Chievo had led at half-time at their Bentegodi Stadium in Verona.
Riccardo Meggiorini’s penalty on 20 minutes cancelled out Federico Santander’s three-minute opener for Bologna before Joel Obi tapped in just before the break. But a Riccardo Orsolini header after 56 minutes rescued a point for Bologna.
Ventura had been bidding to redeem his tarnished reputation after the disgrace of failing to lead the Azzurri to the World Cup for the first time in 60 years. The veteran manager has a long coaching career at club level in Italy with spells at including Torino, Napoli, Sampdoria, Udinese and Hellas Verona.

EFCC Intensifies Efforts To Return Diezani From UK
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed that the process of extraditing former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Diezani Alison Madueke, to Nigeria from the United Kingdom has begun.
Acting spokesman for the commission, Mr Tony Orilade, disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Abuja.
There have been calls from different quarters for the extradition of the former minister to the country over the allegations of impropriety levelled against her.
According to Orilade, the EFCC’s Operations Department has made a presentation to the Legal Department to commence the process.
He, however, said the extradition had to be processed through the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, explaining that it was not something the commission would commence and conclude on its own. Orilade said, “It is ongoing. Within the next few weeks, the extent to which we have gone will be made known to the public.
“It is not a fresh case; it is not a fresh petition that is just being looked into; the whole process is a total package.
“This extradition is just an aspect of Diezani’s investigation and commencement of trial.”
In 2017, a Federal High Court in Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of N7.6bn alleged loot recovered from the former minister to the Federal Government.
Justice Abdulazeez Anka granted an application by the EFCC seeking the final forfeiture of the money to the government.
Granting the application, the judge said, “I have read the motion on notice seeking the final forfeiture of the sum of N7.6bn reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activity.
“I have also gone through the affidavit in support of the application.
“In the circumstances, I am of the view that the application has merit and is hereby granted as prayed. Parties have a right of appeal.”
In October, 2017, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, said Nigeria had no immediate plans to bring Alison-Madueke back home to face trial.
Alison-Madueke, who is being investigated in the UK, had urged the Federal Government to bring her back to the country to face corruption charges against her.
But Malami said bringing her back to the country would jeopardise the investigation being carried on her in the UK.
He said, “Steps have been taken by the United Kingdom authorities on issues bordering on corrupt practices involving Nigerians.
“If Nigeria feels strongly that there is a need to bring Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke here to face corruption charges, government will not hesitate to do that.
“As things stand now, there is no need for that since the UK is already investigating her.’’

Why Atiku Abubakar Was Searched At Airport - Presidency.
The Nigerian government Sunday said there was no ulterior motive behind the search a former vice president of the country and the presidential candidate of the opposition People’s Democratic Party Atiku Abubakar and his staff underwent on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, from Dubai.
Abubakar alleged earlier on Sunday that the search by the “agents of the state” was meant to intimidate him.
“I arrived to Abuja this morning to a search by agents of the state, aimed at intimidating me and my staff,” he tweeted.
But the country’s minister of aviation Hadi Sirika said the claim was false
“For the records, all incoming passengers on international flights go through customs, Immigration, health and security screening,” Sirika said.
“Where the aircraft is using the private, charter wing, as the PDP Candidate did, such arrivals are met by a team of the Immìgration, customs and other security agencies.”
The minister confirmed that Abubakar was truly searched by the officials of Task Force on Currency at the airport, he insisted that former vice president was “accorded full respect as a former Vice President of Nigeria.”
He explained that these checks were part of the international standards applicable in air travels and have no exemption except “if the passenger is the President of Nigeria.”
“These checks are mandatory, conventional, internationally applied and routine,” Sirika said.
“No one is excused from them under our laws. These checks are carried out on all international arrivals and President Buhari does not get involved in them.”
A former spokesman of the ruling All Progressives Congress Timi Frank said in a statement on Sunday that the purpose of the search was to implicate Abubakar.
Frank alleged that the search squad planned to plant “bags of foreign currencies and other implicating things” in Abubakar’s aircraft on arrival in Abuja.
He said the officials, who carried out the search, confessed that they were directed by the presidency to embarrass the former Vice President.
Frank did not, however, say where, when and to whom the officials confessed.

Togolese Cook Reveals How He Killed Chief Ope Bademosi
Togolese cook, Sunday Anani has revealed how he killed businessman and chairman of Credit Swift ltd, Chief Ope Bademosi in his home.
Sunday Anani, told the police how he killed his boss at their home located at No.3B, Onikoyi Lane, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
The shocking revelation was contained in a statement from the Lagos state police command’s spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti.
Oti said the journey that eventually ended the life of the business mogul and an Ondo state indigine, began in Ondo town, in the deceased home state, on 25/10/2018, when one Kofi Friday, 27, returned from Togo to Nigeria and called his compatriots including the murder suspect, Sunday Adefonou Anani, aged 22 years to his house at Yaba area in Ondo town to deliver messages from home.
When Sunday came to take his message, the said Kofi Friday who happens to be his cousin, delivered the good news that he has secured him a job as a cook in a rich man’s house in Ikoyi Lagos through one Agbeko Ayenahin, a male friend of his. The suspect was subsequently taken to the deceased house in Ondo state on Friday October 26, 2018. It is important to mention that deceased usually went home every last weekend of the month; so on Sunday, October 28, 2018, he brought the suspect, Sunday Adefonou, 22, to Lagos to start work as his cook.
Three days after, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, the suspect with the intention to rob the deceased, made his way to his room through the kitchen, to the lobby and then to the room which was the scene of crime, when he observed that the woman of the house, Mrs Ebunola Bademosi, left home for a transaction in a neighbourhood bank called Polaris Bank, Falomo branch.
According to the suspect, when he got to the deceased room and met him on the bed, he said “Chief I am not here to kill you ” the deceased asked him “what do you want ” and he replied “money ”
The deceased said he had no money in the house. At this point, the suspect said he tied him up with a cloth and put him on the floor. He went further to say that the deceased while still on the floor kicked him causing the knife he tucked inside his pants to fall off. He added that the deceased crawled to pick the knife but he (suspect ) was faster; that he struggled with him and the knife accidentally pierced the deceased. He said that while exiting the room, the deceased took the knife to stab him so he kicked him and he fell down. He then took the knife and stabbed him twice on the chest which added to three knife stabs.
When he was done killing the man, he entered his bathroom and threw away his apron already stained with blood and the kitchen knife used as murder weapon. He thereafter heard a knock on the kitchen door, sensing it must be the deceased wife, he ran out of the room and exited from the sitting room door.
Oti in his statement said Sunday was confronted by the guard at the gate, one Nura Mamudu, who asked him where he was hurrying to and he replied that “madam sent me on an errand”.
Finding himself in the street, he came across men loading cement into a Dangote truck. He assisted them and they rewarded him with a lift to Ondo state and the sum of five hundred Naira (N500. 00) given to him by the truck driver in appreciation.

My Dad Was An Orphan, My Mother Born To A Single Mom In Calabar’ – Banky W Shares Touching Story
Nigerian superstar singer, Bankole Wellington aka Banky W, last night shared a rare story about his family when he announced his candidacy for a seat at the Federal House of Representatives.
According to him, “In1981, I was born to a father from Lagos, and a mother from Cross Rivers both of whom struggled and were it not for the Grace of God, had no business receiving University educations abroad. My Dad was an orphan. My mother’s story was not much different. She was born in Calabar, to a single mom, she was sent off to live with her relatives in Lagos”.
He continued that :
Neither of them grew up in particularly fortunate circumstances… but they held on to a set of beliefs that I have since inherited.
In 1985, our family returned to Lagos. Like most families with a limited income, sacrifices had to be made. My parents realized at that time, that they couldn’t afford to rent a nice flat AND send us to a good school at the same time – it would be one or the other.
And so we attended Corona Primary school in Ikoyi, while we lived on the ground floor flat of a sinking building in Akoka, Yaba. We were classmates with children of the rich by day, and playmates with children of the street by night.
I remember during the peak of the raining seasons, our flat would literally get flooded and come up to about the knee level, and so Momsie would wake us up early to scoop water in buckets out of our home, before heading off to school and work. .. But I went from Corona Primary school to Home Science Secondary school, and in 1999, just like my parents did, I gained admission into a University in the USA.

Award winning singer and actor, Banky W has officially joined politics. He unveiled his intentions to run for the Federal House of Representative under Modern Democratic Party at an event in Lagos today. Sharing his message on instagram this evening, Banky wrote;
“They said we don’t have the money to run.. we say we our strength lies in our numbers. They said we don’t have the structure, we say we will attempt to build it. They said “what if you lose”? I say, what if we win?
You see, my entire life has been a story of just dreaming dreams, praying about those dreams, setting goals, and working until they come true. I can live with trying and failing. I can not live with not trying.
So while we may not have a godfather, we do have God. And we have vision. And intellectual capacity. And integrity. And the right intentions. And last but not least, a whole lot of hope.

Adams Oshiomhole Returns From US, Reveals Why He Was Arrested By DSS.
The APC chairman travelled out of the country after he was interrogated by the DSS over allegations of collecting bribe during his party’s primary elections. Speaking during an interaction with editors in Lagos on Saturday, Oshiomhole said he “saw DSS only once and it was a conversation, not an arrest or detention”.
He said: “The conversation centred around APC primaries. The question now is whether or not it is the DSS job to interfere in a political party’s issues. And if there’s an allegation of corruption, it is the responsibility of EFCC and ICPC.” The former governor of Edo noted that the DSS did not ask him to return the next day, contrary to media reports.
Oshiomhole said he was billed to travel abroad on Monday but postponed the trip for a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari. He said he eventually left the country on Tuesday.
Furthermore, the APC chairman said he was not released on administrative bail, adding that Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi, did not come to pick him up from the DSS office.
He said: “I was the one who called Yahaya Bello and he came but I drove home in my own car.” Oshiomhole lashed out at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for calling on Interpol to arrest him, and for insinuating that he had fled the country over the matter.
He said: “What would they have said if it was the PDP chairman that was invited by DSS, for instance over the dollar bazaar at their Port Harcourt primary?
“They would have said democracy is under threat and would have fired a letter to the UN as they often ridicule themselves.” The former labour leader alleged that “a few important members of APC may be conniving with PDP because they preferred the impunity of the PDP era”.
Governors Rochas Okorocha of Imo and Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun are aggrieved over the APC primaries. They blame Oshiomhole for their inability to get the gubernatorial tickets of the party for their preferred candidates. Amosun has said he does not have a hand in Oshiomhole’s invitation by the DSS.

Beware Of Sniper-Treated Beans- CPC Warns Consumers
The Consumer Protection Council on Friday advised consumers to beware of contaminated beans currently being sold in some market. It called on consumers to properly wash their beans before consumption as well as make sufficient enquiries before engaging in new purchases.
The Council gave the advice in a statement released by its Director-General, Mr Babatunde Irukera. The warning came on the heels of a video that had gone viral where some people were seeing using sniper to preserve beans.
The Council said in addition to the cooking method and making enough enquiries before purchase, consumers should sufficiently wash their food items before cooking.
The statement said “Thoroughly washing food items before consumption or preparation for consumption is a generally accepted method of protecting and promoting safety.
“The CPC has recently confirmed by credible information that retailers, mostly in the open market, are using a pesticide, 2,2-dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate compound, otherwise marketed and known as ‘Sniper’, to preserve beans and more particularly to eliminate or protect from weevils.”
Irukera, in the statement, pointed out that sniper, by its chemical composition and nature, was potentially injurious when human beings were unduly exposed by inhalation, absorption, direct skin contact or ingestion.
“The risk of injury on account of the consumption of beans exposed to or treated with Sniper is also existential, even though, an unintended consequence,” it added.

Davido Has An Abandoned First Baby, Who Is A Spitting Image Of Imade – Kemi Olunloyo Alleges With Photos
Controversial Journalist, Kemi Olounloyo, is making serious allegations against Davido again. This time , it is about the paternity of a child, who according to the journalist is Davido’s first child.
“This is UR alleged FIRST child @iam_Davido. Just like you denied Imade & got a paternity test, Michelle too wants hers redone. Her mom & grandma needs assistance for her. She has been ill, stopped school and no 5th birthday Nov 19. I will launch a fundraiser for her.” She said.
“The mother of Davido’s alleged 1st daughter Ayotomide Labinjo wants a new paternity test. The child’s grandmother wants it private as compared to Davido and his crew who came just for him to deposit DNA. Father and grandfather both paying for test and all the ruckus” She continued.
Followers are saying the child looks like Davido’s daughter, Imade.” … I thought I was the only one who saw the resemblance. She looks so much like imade” one fan said, and to prove it, Kemi shows photos of the child and Imade side by side.

‘Careful with your choice of words. Davido will more than slaughter his career when you don’t take care of your responsibility. Children are not games. Go read about Speaker Paul Ryan’s life on what happens when your mom is left single with no child support.’ Kemi said.
She also said she raising funds for the girl’s birthday,” #LIVE On Facebook tonight @hnnafrica 9pm I’m doing a #LIVE fundraiser for Michelle Anuoluwapo Adeleke. This is her birthday fundraiser so she can get to the doctor this week as she’s very SICK and she can have a great 5th birthday. This was her 4th birthday last year 11/19/17.”
Adds that the alleged babymama will issue a statement soon.

“#HNNAfricaPR Ayotomide Labinjo’s daughter turns 5yo on November 19th 2018 two days shy of her alleged dad’s birthday. Labinjo states that Davido has cheated her of benefits for their daughter, believes that a paternity test previously done was ALTERED. She is asking for an independent one. This is Miss M. Anuoluwapo Adeleke, Davido’s alleged FIRST daughter before Imade and Veronica in the last collage. Labinjo does not want media people to keep calling her daughter “alleged”. She had a brief relationship with Davido when he was an upcoming music star and they consented. Miss Michelle Anuoluwapo Adeleke, Davido’s alleged FIRST daughter has stopped going to school. Her grandmother mother wept on the phone to me saying she and her daughter could not afford to pay her school fees and she’s homeschooled. Davido has constantly rejected requests to support the child and has never denied a sexual relationship with the mother. According to Davido’s daughter’s grandmother, Mrs Ropo Labinjo, the paternity test results were likely ALTERED. Both mom and grandmother say the doctor was paid heavily by Davido even after Grandfather Deji Adeleke was seen paying the DNA test lab fee so it looked like a bribe to distort the results. The child is currently sick and under doctor care with bills mounting as of today November 5th 2018. The grandmother Mrs Ropo Labinjo is the wife of the late great Professor Labinjo. We plan an online fundraiser for her all week. Contact us at hnnafricanews@live.com for interviews and enquiries”
Minimum Wage: NLC calls off planned strike
Organised labour has called off its planned nationwide strike. The strike had been scheduled to commence on Tuesday to ensure that the Federal Government meets the demand of workers for a new national minimum wage.
However, the National Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, announced the suspension at the end of the meeting of the tripartite committee set up to come up with the new minimum wage late on Monday. According to Wabba, the decision to suspend the strike was taken after agreements were reached and documents signed. The Chairman of the tripartite committee said it would present its report to President Buhari on Tuesday. The committee, however, failed to reach consensus over new minimum wage proposals as the Federal government insisted on N24,000 and Labour N30, 000. Wabba said the figure would only be made public after the committee’s report would have been presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by 4.15pm on Tuesday.
